Come on tomtom get your frigging act together and design your forms properly by an employee who can actually count from 1 to 12. It would be most helpful if customer feedback was taken seriously and amazon and tomtom updated their respective web sites giving information where the serial number can be found without any ambiguity. All this hassle and frustration for filling out a form that should take minutes instead of hours !despite the problems with the cash back form the actual golive 1000 euro map version is a 5 star product which i would happily recommend. Time Will Tell. I've had my 1005 for a week or so now and on the whole i'm pleased with it. Tomtom have clearly got problems with the software and a number of services the 1005 should have are not yet available. In the last few days they have updated the firmware and this has improved the situation a lot. I'm sure this is going to be an excellent sat nav but it is not there yet. It has no way to back it up and the pois are not globally searchable. The general opinion seems to be that the 'live' system works well; i haven't much experience of it but what i have had has worked well. If you can wait a couple of months i would put off buying one but if you can put up with a few niggles that i'm sure will be sorted out soon then don't be put off by the bad reviews they have improved a lot over the last couple of weeks and my experience with tomtom over the last few years has been very good. Map updates now work as do 3rd party pois. Google search is very helpful for finding local businesses and all reports suggest the built in pois are good. Tip:if you do buy a 1005, update the firmware before the map or you will have serious problems. See tomtom's website. Also downloading and updating the 2-3gb map for 'europe' takes into hours even on a fast broadband so don't give up on it. .
