The whole package was returned, and a replacement ordered.
This second unit was working perfectly, but on attaching to the bike, it turned out that the power unit, which reduces the bikes 12v to the units 5v, was faulty. So this second unit was duly returned. I've now lost all faith in the reliability/quality of this brand, and have decided to bite the bullet & sump up for a tomtom - which i know i can trustto be fair to amazon, both returns have been dealt with efficiently, with no quibbles or cost to myself. So, in conclusion - purchase with caution.
